Introducing ESUN PA-CF
- Nylon carbon fiber filament is developed based on nylon 6/66 copolymer, adding 20% carbon fiber greatly enhances the strength, rigidity and toughness of nylon, and can replace metal materials in many occasions; Self-lubricating wear resistance makes this carbon fiber 3d printer filament suitable for printing gears
Extreme Rigidity and Tensile Strength
- Standard nylon is highly impact-resistant but tends to bend and flex under heavy loads. The added carbon fiber strands act as a structural skeleton, dramatically increasing the tensile strength and stiffness. Parts printed in PA-CF resist bending or stretching under immense structural stress.
Drastically Reduced Warping
Nylon is notorious for shrinking as it cools, leading to warped corners and failed prints. Chopped carbon fibers do not expand or contract with temperature changes. By anchoring the polymer matrix, they drastically reduce isotropic shrinkage, allowing you to print large, flat, dimensionally precise geometric parts easily—even on machines without an actively heated chamber
Elevated Thermal Resistance
The inclusion of carbon fiber pushes the material’s Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) significantly higher. Depending on the specific blend and post-print annealing processes, PA-CF can withstand continuous operational temperatures ranging from 150°C to over 180°C, making it excellent for automotive under-the-hood components or high-heat enclosures
