Bambu Lab TPU 90A 3D Printing Filament
Overview & Key Features

  • Shore Hardness: 90A – Softer than most non-flexible filaments, but still structurally robust enough for functional parts like shoe soles or RC tires. It’s more rigid than the TPU 85A variant but offers that sweet spot between flexibility and strength.
  • Great for hybrid prints with PLA & PETG – TPU 90A seamlessly integrates with PLA or PETG in dual-nozzle printers like the Bambu Lab H2D through beam interlocking in Bambu Studio.
  • Wear & impact resistant, perfect for applications needing durability under bending or stress.

Bambu Lab TPU 90A 3D Printing Filament
Print Settings & Recommendations

Based on official guidance:

  1. Dry your filament – TPU 90A absorbs moisture quickly, which can cause poor layer adhesion or stringing. Dry at:

    • 70 °C for 8 hours (blast drying oven), or

    • 90 °C for 16 hours (X1 series heatbed)

  2. Printing Speed – Keep it at or below 80 mm/s to reduce clogging risks.

  3. Build Plate & Nozzles:

    • Plate Temp: 30–45 °C (smooth or textured PEI)

    • Nozzle Temp: 220–240 °C

    • Use hardened steel or stainless steel nozzles to reduce abrasion.

  4. Additional Tips:

    • Add a brim to improve adhesion and reduce warping.

    • Store filament with desiccant to preserve dryness.

Compatibility & Limitations

  • Printer Compatibility:

    • Compatible with Bambu Lab H2D (right filament inlet).

    • Compatible with X-Series, P-Series, and A-Series (but multi-material mixing only on H2D).

    • AMS (Automatic Material System)Not compatible with AMS or AMS Lite. TPU 90A must be manually loaded.
