Mechanical & Thermal Properties

Printed specimen data shows:

  • Tensile Strength (X–Y): ~59.8 MPa

  • Tensile Strength (Z): ~41.1 MPa

  • Tensile Modulus (X–Y): ~3710 MPa

  • Flexural Strength (X–Y): ~94.6 MPa

  • Flexural Modulus (X–Y): ~3779 MPa

  • Charpy Notched Impact Strength (X–Y): ~4.0 kJ/m²

  • Heat Deflection Temperature (0.45 MPa): ~68.6 °C

These specs make it suitable for functional prototyping, automotive components, and consumer goods where rigidity and dimensional accuracy matter.

Printing Recommendations

Temperatures:

  • Nozzle: 240–270 °C (Polymaker states 270 °C; but profiles suggest the range 240–270 °C)

  • Bed: 60–70 °C

Speed & Cooling:

  • Printing Speed: Up to 300 mm/s

  • Cooling Fan: Use 0–50%—reduce fan if you notice layer adhesion issues

Nozzle & Hardware:

  • Use a hardened steel or abrasion-resistant nozzle, as the recycled carbon fiber is abrasive and will wear down brass nozzles quickly (typically around 9 hours of life)

Chamber / Enclosure:

  • No heated chamber required—room temperature (~20–25 °C) is sufficient

Drying & Moisture Management:

  • If the filament is moisture-exposed, dry at 65 °C for 3 h in a regular oven or PolyDryer level 2 for 6 h

  • Store with desiccant; keep relative humidity under ~20%

Annealing:

  • Annealing is not required for PETG‑rCF08
