Polymaker is committed to helping combat plastic waste and Panchroma™ PLA is the first step we are taking towards creating more eco-sustainable products. Our goal is to migrate all of our products in this direction.
Here you can see how Panchroma™ PLA recycled cardboard packaging helps avoid plastic waste and helps the planet by having a negative carbon footprint.
FROM EARTH, BACK TO EARTH
Abundant and rapidly renewable plant resources capture and sequester atmospheric carbon over their growing season, producing simple sugars via the process of photosynthesis. Through a process of fermentation and separation, these harvested plant sugars are converted into lactic acid. A lactic acid building block is transformed into Ingeo, a performance thermoplastic with physical characteristics and performance tailored for filament production and printing.

How long does it take for Panchroma™️ Matte PLA to degrade?
Panchroma™️ Matte PLA degrades under the specific conditions of industrial composting, namely, at certain temperature and humidity with the presence of micro-organisms. The degrade rate will depend on the size and thickness of the printed part.
Is Panchroma™️ Matte PLA food safe?
Our Panchroma™️ Matte PLA is compliance with RoHS Directives 2011/65/EU and (EU) 2015/863 and REACH regulation, which means it does not contain toxic or harmful substance listed.
However, the as with any 3D printed parts might have micro-cracks and holes which are invisible to the naked eye even though the prints look smooth. Bacteria are prone to grow in these micro-cracks and holes and thus we do not recommend to use the printed parts in food contact applications.
